Practice makes a man perfect

“Practice makes a man perfect” you often heard about this quote in childhood but it is time to adopt this line. If you want to get rid of the complexity of maths, you just have to practice as much as you can. Maths is a hand on the subject. It is not enough to just learn the chapters, you have to understand the concepts and then keep practising. It is best to start your practice from the beginning of the session. That’s why you will be well practised and confident.

Use time-solving maths trick

There are so many time-saving tricks available in math that help you to speed up your calculations. You just have to prepare these tricks at your fingertips. If you use these tricks constantly then it will improve your intellectuality. These tricks are not limited to your exams but they will help you in all of your exams.

Start by solving an example

It is suggested that you don’t start by solving complex problems. If you have just understood the concept, solving hard sums will give you a wrong answer and discourage you. Instead, Start with examples given in your textbook and do not look at the answer beforehand. Once you have solved it, check it with the textbook solution, or any other book you are using. Check that all your steps are correct, not only the answer. Once you solve all the steps correctly, it means you are ready to shoot simpler problems. Once you can master those, you can move on to the complex one.

Review your mistakes

Mathematics is all about problem-solving and solving problems you need to apply different solutions until you find the right one. If you got the wrong answer, review your process step by step and identify the mistakes. Understanding your mistakes and learning where you went wrong in your approach using a step by step process is the best way to strengthen your skills and avoid making the same errors again.

Focus on concepts and formulas

Maths is a sequential subject: you need to understand one problem thoroughly before moving on to the next. If you know only the process of an equation, you will find it more difficult to understand where it fits in solutions for different types of problems in future. In fact, in a study conducted by the  Cognitive Science Society, students who used a problem-solving approach consistently outshined students who learned the mathematical solution before trying to solve the problem. According to the research, by understanding the problem before knowing the solution, students could more clearly identify the logic behind the problem. The ideal procedure to learn maths is by understanding the notions and explanations rather than memorizing the answer.

Ask for help

Never be afraid to ask for help while at school or college. If you are a student and you have a doubt, you haven’t to be shy or find it difficult to speak up in class. Mathematics is a cumulative subject, which means you have to set a strong base or you will easily and quickly leave behind. So it’s ok if you can not gather your courage to ask a question in class, but you can always approach your teachers after the class.

You can also get help from your seniors, seek tutorials if you are struggling, or join a study group where you can discuss problems together. Sometimes you just need an explanation differently to truly understand it. Getting some help and support will boost your strength.

Practice well-researched books and sample papers

Students should have to prefer high quality and well-researched books for maths. There are so many books available on the market but RS Aggarwal Solutions Class 9 Maths has achieved a paramount among all books. The well-researched content provided them with an idea of the exam questions. The students are mentally prepared to shoot the questions with confidence. The above-mentioned book has precise content in a well-organised manner. Along with books, the sample papers and past years question papers also help them to get an idea of topics and what kind of questions are being asked in exams.

Learn important topics

It is a must for class 9th students to learn all the important topics which are suggested by the teachers. These important topics have more weightage than others. It isn’t a means to skip the other topics. You have to study all topics and then give extra preference to them.

Learn the basics thoroughly

For any student, it is necessary to read the basics frequently. If you know the basics of any subject, it is helpful to understand all kinds of various things and you will be able to solve the problems. For maths, the basics are everything. Even the basics of class 9th will also be helpful for any other exams like JEE.

So the above-mentioned points are specially prepared for how a 9th class student makes his journey smoothly with maths. Maths is not a tough subject, you just need to understand the concept. If any student works on all of the above-mentioned points, he will be a master of maths.
